Following a petition by three Christians challenging the UP Anti-conversion Law, the Allahabad High Court issued notice to the Advocate General. This marks the beginning of a potentially landmark case, and if successful, it will assure constitutional freedom and security to everyone practicing and preaching their faith in the state of UP.

Raju and Sandeep, who were wrongly booked under Section 3 & 5 of the UP Prohibition of Unlawful Conversions of Religious Ordinance, 2021 and IPC Sections 504 & 506, have moved the High Court assisted by ADF India allied lawyers, urging that the constitutionality of the Law be upheld according to the right to freely profess, practice and propagate religion guaranteed under Article 25 of the Constitution of India.

The matter first came to light on December 20, 2020, when the UCF helpline number received the report of the two victims being taken into custody by the police based on allegations of forced religious conversion. Learning about the incident, ADF India allied lawyers assisted the victims in secure bail and further legal proceedings.
