In 2008, Kandhamal, Odisha witnessed unprecedented hostility where 56,000 people were left homeless, and 308 churches were destroyed. Atleast 101 Christians were killed and 40 women were sexually assaulted.

Sadly, such incidents of religious persecution continue to increase. Every year more than 300 incidents of targeted violence are reported against Christians in India.

Yet their abiding hope recognizes God’s faithfulness and grace through the challenges.

On the 13th anniversary of the violence in Kandhamal, Odisha, let us come together to remember, pray and help our brothers and sisters who are persecuted for their faith.

You may download the prayer card and stream the video of Sr. Meena Barwa provided below in the observance and prayers for the persecuted Church.
